Best Lesbian Erotica 2007

Just got the good word from editor Tristan Taormino that my story "On Fire," which I wrote specifically for the anthology Erotic Interludes: Extreme Passions, has also made it into Best Lesbian Erotica 2007. Our task was to write about lovers who'll go to extreme lengths for each other, so I wrote about a woman who's tasked with eating fire. It was fun to write and I even had to do research (but not mouth-on, as it were, just read up a bit and studied hottie Molly Crabapple's MySpace photo). It'll be out in November, and is my fourth time in BLE, and it's always a huge honor. My very first story, "Monica and Me," was published for the first time in Best Lesbian Erotica 2001, and I remember standing in Barnes & Noble Chelsea, holding it in my hand with tears in my eyes and calling Tristan in excitement. That was almost 6 years ago! But I still recall it so clearly, and I try not to lose that sense of awe and excitement, otherwise, time to call it quits in eroticaland and move on, but I still get new ideas (working on a fun summer story) and doing the reading series and just being exposed to so many other writers really helps me realize that there are an infinite number of ideas and that anything can become an erotica story, with the right inspiration.

There's already a New York City reading scheduled at KGB Bar on December 21st as part of Kathleen Warnock's Drunken! Careening! Writers! series.
