Babies who email
My cousin-by-marriage Sarah Kershaw wrote this adorable article about babies with email addresses.
And since I love when anything's too naughty or, in this case, "devious," for The New York Times (or other publications, ahem), this was my favorite part (and I'm sure this empty marymargaretkelly site is going to get a ton of traffic from the article):
Ms. Kelly, who lives in Phoenix, went a step further than most parents for her daughter, Mary Margaret. She bought marymargaretkelly.com of course ("I was nervous that it would be taken," she said) but also purchased two "devious" domains in her daughter's name.
It was an attempt, she said, to head off evil high school forces, future jilted ex-boyfriends or other potential enemies, who might buy profane domains devoted to skewering poor Mary Margaret. The domain names are too devious to print.
I know Lisa Palac had a site for her son Marson but they later took it down. Not sure yet what I will do when I have kids, but it will be a long while, clearly, until that happens, so I have time to figure it out. In the mean time, I adore Adriana's Mom and am always busy scoping out the cutest onesies around, even though I've been admonished that the parents I know do not need more stuff. It's hard to resist but since my friend E is having a baby in July, I can wait and dote on her kid.
